Open Call For Artist To Apply for Bayimba Festival Uganda,2019

Bayimba International Festival of the Arts is calling on artists to apply to perform at its 2019 edition on Lunkulu Island in Mukono, Uganda, from 1 to 4 August.

Last year, the festival featured more than 1 000 performing local and international artists on six stages. They included Jose Chameleone (Uganda), The Soil (South Africa), Swahili Ally (Tanzania), Shamsi Music (Kenya), Shane Palko (US), Pseudopolis & Lewis Lowe (UK), Bolivar Mvulu (DRC/Netherlands) and Ancient Astronauts (Germany/Uganda/Kenya/DRC).

To apply for Bayimba Festival, applicants need to be involved in the following art forms:


  • Music
  • Dance
  • Poetry
  • Storytelling
  • Acrobatics
  • Theatre
  • Film
  • Visual arts

The application deadline is 30 April and only successful applicants will be notified.

Requirements

Participants are requested to fill the online application form and submit the following information:


  • A profile/biography (maximum 800 words).
  • Recent picture(s).
  • A presentation of your work (in the case of music/film: one or two of your recordings on CD, DVD or MP3).
  • A technical rider/data sheet.

Support from Bayimba

All successful participants will receive a modest performance fee. Artists from outside Uganda will be provided with modest accommodation, local transport and per diem. However, they will be required to source for support to cover travel, visa and insurance. A formal invitation letter to facilitate the solicitation for such support will be provided.
