Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival is calling on artists from around the world to apply to perform at the 2019 edition of the event at Heroes’ Square in Limassol this July.
The call is open to professional musicians, composers and bands. Interested applicants can apply using this application form. All applications will be evaluated by a selection committee and the management of Rialto Theatre.
The application deadline is 23 March. Selected bands will be informed on 21 April.
Terms and conditions
- Priority shall be given to bands performing their own authentic and original world music.
- In addition to the musicians’ remuneration, the organiser shall also meet all organisational costs such as sound engineering and PA equipment, lighting, press material and promotion expenses.
- Travelling and accommodation expenses shall also be covered for international bands coming from abroad.
- The organisers may select a band to participate in a parallel event within the festival’s framework.
- The band members participating at the festival shall be those mentioned in the application form (i.e. name, surname and instrument). Cypriot musicians may not participate in more than two music bands.
- The line-up shall be determined by the organiser. The minimum performance duration for each band is 75 minutes.
- Participants will be invited to take part in an educational programme organised by the festival.
- All concerts will be recorded, filmed and photographed at the organiser’s responsibility, who may use such material for advertising and promotional purposes (but not for commercial purposes).
- Each band shall be given a copy of the aforementioned material.
- “Through a series of open-air concerts with free entrance at Limassol’s Heroes Square, the festival showcases diverse music styles that share common backgrounds and similar influences, drawing inspiration from the traditions of each country, while building bridges with current music trends,” a statement reads.
“Aiming to further develop the festival, various parallel events will be taking place, focusing on the involvement and interaction of Cypriot musicians and artists with music professionals coming both from the island and abroad.”
